Meeting more friends

On 28th of December I had more fun with Oma in Sommelsdijk. We wanted to go for a walk but the weather was awful so we decided to take it easy. In the evening Opa and Oma looked after me while Mum and Dad enjoyed a dinner at "het Genot" in Middelharnis!

On the 29th of December again a new day and new faces to look at! I met Mariska and Jeroen today and Corine also came to Leiden to have lunch with Mum, Dad and me. The restaurant had a cow in front of the window so another reason for a picture.

In the evening I had more playtime with Oma and Opa... I talked a lot, not sure whether they understood my aaaahhh and aaagooo, hihi
Opa and Oma looked pretty proud of their grandson (me). Sad day though on December 30th as that was the day that we left Opa and Oma in Sommelsdijk...good news is that they said that they will visit me in Australia in 2011!!! On our way back to Bingelrade we had lunch with Simon and Evelien. They used to live in Melbourne, close to our house. Mum introduced Simon to me as a Kiwi...but I did not think that he looked like the fruit...I'll have to ask Mum at some point what she meant. During lunch Mum ordered kroketten!!! Too bad Dad (I have to blame someone) forgot to take pictures of me and Ev and Simon...

Christmas

My first Christmas, the 25th of December we stayed in Bingelrade and we had a great dinner, that means that Mum and Dad enjoyed their dinner...I had green beans for the first time and that was awful, I championed through a couple of bites but after 6 spoonfuls I had to quit. Dad was proud of me for trying as he didn’t like the beans himself at all. Uncle Rob cooked the starter and main dish for the dinner and Dad prepared the dessert. After the dinner I relaxed a bit with Aunty Joyce. A very good day!

The 26th we went to Sommelsdijk to see Opa, Oma, Dad’s Oma, Monique, Marcel and the kids... I had a lot of spectators when I enjoyed my apple bite. Dad’s Oma, Oma Beppie, has a great lap to sit on; it was very good to meet her. After I went to bed, Mum and Dad had dinner with the rest of the family, Opa cooked some lovely dishes, but I was not there to see how good it was...

After Christmas it was time to say goodbye to Oma Beppie, so I gave her another cuddle and played with Oma for a bit. In the afternoon Mum, Dad and me walked around in Middelharnis and we even ate one of the delicious oliebollen (I had mine with a bit of milk).

More snow...

Wow I’ve never seen so much snow before in my entire life... I know that that doesn’t mean that much, but also for Mum and Dad this was a lot of snow... Dad helped Opa to clear the driveway to be able to do some last-minute shopping for the Christmas dinner.

Later that day, during my little nap, Mum and Dad went out for a little walk...they had a lot of fun but struggled to get through all the snow.

I like carrots

I had mashed carrots as a little snack, I love it, especially as I can make a huge mess of myself.

 Me, Mum and Chacco

Mum and Me in Winter Wonderland... Just a very quick visit to Maastricht to arrange things at the Town Hall and the bank. We will spend more time in Maastricht early January.

Erwtensoep for Mum, High Tea and more solids for me

Mum was very happy as Oma prepared "Erwtensoep" with "Appelpannekoek".

On Sunday, Mum and Dad went to have "High Tea" at the Schinvelder Hoeve, which is the place where they got married in 2004. Mum was excited because Joep and Yvon would join us and she could not wait to introduce me to them. Yvon makes a very good apple pie and has a very nice lap to sit on.

We walked to the Schinvelderhoeve and the food there was great, they enjoyed it a lot and I caught up on some sleep.

While we had high-tea, it snowed again...we almost got stuck in the snow...Dad had a hard time pushing the pram, that was hard work...I just enjoyed watching the snow falling down.

I am really getting the hang of eating solid foods. The apple sauce is great and I also really enjoy the rice cereal! I make a bit of a mess, but Mum still seems to think that it is cute.

Solids...

Oma Daemen makes a very good apple sauce and Mum suddenly told me that it was time...time for my first bite of solids. Apparently I had been making ready signs during the last week and Mum decided that I should try a little bit of the apple sauce....everybody was very excited whether I would like it or not, I've never seen so many camera's at the same time. I had of course no clue what was going to happen so I just waited to see what would happen. I liked it a lot...in a couple of days Mum will add rice cereal...I am looking forward to it!!!
