My trip to Adelaide

Exciting times again! Mum, Dad and I went to Adelaide because Dad had a conference there and Mum and I joined him on his trip. We went on Saturday so we'd have some quality time with the 3 of us during the weekend and we would be able to catch up with Megan (one of Mums work colleagues), Wim and their girls Marcelle and Tess.

As this is already my second flight, Qantas decided to upgrade Mum and me to Business Class, but because Dad is not such a frequent flyer as Mum and me, he was stuck in Economy. There was only one Business seat available for Mum and me . So after some little discussion between Mum and me we decided to pass on the Business Class and enjoyed our little cramped up seat in Economy together with Dad, which was heaps of fun as I do not get to spend a lot of time with Dad during the week, when he is at work. I slept most of the flight without any problems.

In Adelaide we received our rental car with baby seat and we headed out towards McLaren Vale, which is one of the South Australian Wine regions.

We visited a famous winery called Chapel Hill Winery and Mum and Dad tasted some wines and they bought a very nice wine to give to Meg and Wim and bought some Tawny to enjoy at night when I was asleep.

In the evening we had  a bite to eat at Port Willunga. We had some fish, wedges, and calamari rings...very nice. Then it was time for bed...it was a bit colder then expected, luckily I brought my tent, sleeping bag and blanket. I slept like a baby :)

On Sunday we woke up early due to the peacocks making a lot of noise and we drove a bit along the coast and i got to sit on a swing with Mum, very cool!  We stopped in McClaren Vale to have pizza at Oscar's, and another first time for me...I got to sit in a high chair, I know, I am growing quite quickly.

Then we went up to Adelaide to the apartment that Dad booked, we checked in and then went to see Meg, Wim and the girls. They had heaps of gifts for me, and were very nice to me, Meg did not want to let me go. Dad had to quickly go to the conference to register, but quickly returned for dinner.

On Monday Mum took some pictures during my playtime on the bed and after that Mum and I walked around Adelaide and had a little picnic in the Botanical Gardens. The tree we were sitting under was very noisy, there were about 50-100 Lorikeet parrots in this tree having lunch.

I had a little sleep and Mum was reading her book (at least she was trying to with all the noise).
Then all of a sudden 2 ducks were passing by to say "quack quack hi" to me, which was very nice of them, but I think they wanted to steal our bread.
During Dads lunch break he came to sit with us in the Botanical Gardens. Dad had his presentation that morning and was wearing a suit, I did not even recognize Dad.

On Tuesday morning Dad Mum and I had a little swim in the hotel pool after brekky. Mum brought all my water toys and little duckies. I loved the warm water, but after about 20 minutes I was so sleepy and drowsy that Mum and Dad decided that it was enough for my first pool adventure.

Mum and I did some shopping after while Dad was at the conference and we caught up again in the afternoon.

Wednesday was our final day in Adelaide, we picked up our rental car, dropped off Dad at the conference and Mum and I went to see some of the research coordinators that Mum worked with. I met Pam, Karin and Cheryl, I really like them because they kept telling me that I was the cutest boy ever!!! At about 5pm we picked up Dad again from the conference and we went to the airport for our flight back home... the weather was pretty bad and all planes were delayed. Allthough this was not ideal it gave me the opportunity to meet Chris and catch-up with Kate who is very good at cuddling. I have to say that I feel sorry that I threw up on her, hihi.  I fell asleep at 8pm as usual and Mum already put in me in my pyjama already before boarding the plane. I can not even remember flying home as I have slept the whole way. At about 2345 we finally got home...it felt good to be back in my own bed...
